"Powder coated" meaning you actually used an electrostatic gun then baked it at 400 degrees? or you just rattle canned it?

This is my Craftsman powder coating gun. The reason I ask is because I see masking edges where it would less likely occur in powder coating. Just bugs when people post rattle canned paint jobs as powder coating.

No its Powdercoated, did it in my garage.I masked the lettering as well as the threads/holes etc.I dont need to have any powder in the threads or any chance that it will chip off and into the valves. No rattle can here.

High temp tape...good for 400f+.Pulled the tape just after the powder flowed out.

^ Looks like a single cam vtec valve cover since the oil filler cap is on top... so possibly EF/EG/EJ/EK.

Its from a 2000 Civic CX,the gf's car.Its up for sale and this VC isn't going with it.

Columbia Coatings makes good guns, what one did you get the Hypersmooth?
For your Powder there is a better place for ordering,PowderBuythePound.com
Way better deals and they will soon have a Canadian distributor so the shipping wont be a pain in the a**.Read the forums on Eastwood,Columbia Coatings,Caswell etc.Lots of good info and Oven building forums, buy some Acetone for a wipe down before shooting the powder but don't use it to wipe the part that has a layer of Powder on it as it softens it up.Get some Mar Hyde or Aircraft stripper to remove paint or powdercoat,Simple Green to degrease parts and coat everything you have. The forums will give you lots of info.

^ Awesome thanks, especially for the powder source

I just bought the Chicago Coatings gun. Definitely a beginner gun, but probably a good place to start I think. I'll probably do some test parts, then do my calipers. I'll move on to the rims, then probably start attacking some parts off the bike..... it'll pay for itself very quickly I think
