cause it looks the same and this part serves no real purpose. so why throw away money. if its like ebay cams vs spoon or something then obviously get spoon but for an oil cap...

...@#$% it

Serves no purpose? Are you serious? The oem cap is crap. Mine would let out small amount of oil, no matter how tight I put it on. Then I would be impossible to loosen. It sucked balls. My mugen cap doesn't let anything out and its easy to remove. Glad I got one.

I've read that for guys who auto cross and drag and stuff the billet aluminum caps are better because the stock ones can melt or blow off or something from the engine getting hot and when the oil pressure is up. Something like that. Read it in a Modified Mag.

I'd like to see some sources for that.

There may be some positive pressure, but I don't see anywhere near enough to blow off a oil cap that's properly tightened. For arguments sake, even if there was enough pressure, the oil cap is not the weakest link and many other things would blow before the cap flew off.

as someone who has had Hondas all my life and been modding for almost ten years, I can tell you this. Cheap usually = crap. and yes sometimes you will spend $80 for asthetics like a colored oil cap. It's the name of the game get used to it. But in the end, whether it is functionally better or not, always go with the real thing IMO

I try to go with the real thing also,I just thought $87 was alot of money for a cap. I have learned the hard way that you should buy what you really want not settle for something else.....

True. Besides, there are all them issues of counterfeit, bootleg, pirate, knock-off, fake ****e, which I believe is a bad thing, as a matter of fact, it's a crime, let alone the usually crappy quality of every knock-off stuff, be it Mugen oil caps, Coach pocketbooks or D&G jeans.
