JDM red emblem on steering wheel

I know somebody did this here (I THINK)...
I was interested in finding out how to do it... I've taken a look at the H on th steering wheel and it seems like the steering wheel has been cut/engraved so that the H would fit into it. How would a full JDM emblem fit in?
Is there cutting necessary or anything?

Also, how was the original H emblem taken out?

lastly... which size or type would fit the steering wheel?

I'm just planning on doing the front, back and steering wheel altogether.

Any help would be great thanks!

i believe people did it with vinyl that sticks right on the emblem ala http://ep3decals.blogspot.com/

the problem is the emblem on the 8th gen's steering wheel isn't flat like the EP3, so the vinyl doesn't fit very well.

if you're gonna do all your emblems red, might as well do your key

wait..
how will the vinyl work on the steering wheel of the 06 models if the honda symbol isnt like a full emblem, its like a cutout. hard to explain... but im sure if you think about it you'll understand.

Yeah I saw it too. I can't remember who posted it. I am almost 100% positive those on that link wouldn't work. The guy in the pictures applies it to a 2003 civic si. It had a whole emblem (H and black background) on the steering wheel. The 2006 civics have a cut-out emblem (just the H). The application itself is just like a sticker; It just covers the black part of the emblem and leaves the chrome exposed. (on the older civics) You could try it, but i do NOT think it will work because the newer civics don't have the background. By the way, I do think I will be picking up those key stickers. Looks cool.

i tired it after asking some guy here that had it he said that it wasnt perfect and so on. i tired it and the red part kindof bends in the dip. i didnt like it so i took it off and the key h's came out good too its simple and cheap.
