HFP Kit Do's and Dont's!

Hey guys, my full HFP kit (Sedan) should be coming to me in probably 1-2 weeks dependent upon the dealer, and shipping etc. I've searched the forums for anything that entailed installing this kit. I just wanted to get some last minute tips from anyone who has any experience installing this kit.

I initially was going to take it to the dealer to get it installed, but after seeing some photos of kits installed on here - I am going to do it myself. (If you want it done right - do it yourself!)

So if anyone has any tips they'd like to share, or share any of their shortcomings while installing any pieces of this kit, please feel free to share them. Any input is greatly appreciated.

-k

coupe or sedan?

if coupe... you do NOT have to cut your rear bumper for it to go on. The directions tell you to bu it is not necessary.

i would make sure you have a friend help. It makes it much easier when trying to secure the lip on the front and rear and make sure you done get any gaps

when doing the install, take your time. you don't want to screw /or make a hole in the wrong place. lol

don't worry, you'll have tons of fun.

please have someone help you, it makes it a lot more enjoyable, plus, you'll need them to take the front bumper off

Cut it for sedan. Do everything the way the instructions say and don't take shortcuts and you'll be fine.

Planning on it. The side lip instructions seem to be pretty daunting..

yes. do NOT cut your bumper. you have plenty of clearance. just follow instructions from college hills and you'll be set. i did it my first time and it took me awhile just cuz it was nerve wracking drilling my bumper, but then i installed my friends and whole thing took about 30 minutes

That's a heck of a lot easier then the instructions. Probably makes for a better fit too! Thanks for showing me that.. Its how I'm going to go about the side skirt installs.

Make sure you have a drill bit that is at least 10mm.

I probably have a drill bit in about every size imaginable. Tools will be no problem.. And the kit arrived. I'll be opening the boxes soon to check on everything..

Well guys, I got the entire kit installed without a hitch. With the help of my 15 y/o nephew. Much more simple then I thought. Didn't even need any spacers as I had 0 gaps on the front. I didn't like hacking up the rear bumper so much, but what is now on, will never come off! Hopefully I'll have some photos up soon. Next I'm eye'ing up the DIY for suspension installation. :d

cheers,
k
