This won't help get it off, but I would use it to avoid this issue in the future. Meg. Tech Wax (NX?) is the best I have seen when it comes to overwax. If I get it on my plastics, it is rubbed off easily with a ran and some Armorall. It is also easily removed when you use a detail brush for where the body pieces come together. It advertizes that it doesn't have any wax dust, and they are pretty accurate about it.

3M makes a great wax remover. Safe for paint and plastics. I also have a stiff nylon brush I use on the wiper cowl. Back to Black will help restore the black trim pieces to their original color.
