Custom Carbon Roof?

Is this even possible? My plan was to get a carbon fiber hood and trunk lid, but then it expanded into something MUCH more than that. I came up with the idea that I could possibly custom mold a roof panel for it too so it would look like a carbon fiber stripe that goes the whole way from the front of my hood to the bottom of the trunk, I think it would look cool. Any sugesstions? Do you think it would look good?

Note: Not too sure if it matters, but for invisioning reasons my car is grey.

my shop was gonna do that for me, till i said no.

So yes its possible. All they do is add the carbon fiber sheets, and clear coat it into your roof.

Theres alot of people on this site now that are getting black top roofs, but not cf.

you dont really have to replace the roof panel with a CF mold, you can just get CF overlaid.

Did someone say roof overlay?

I'm not sure on the exact cost because a friend hooked me up with mine for helping him with installs on his Mugen. Of course it will not look the same but it still does look sick. CF grill, hood, trunk & 7 yr vinyl roof overlay.

Interesting........I wonder how it is attached. Your factory roof skin is spot welded. An OEM replacement is done with plug welds and panel bonding adhesive but the stuff we use is made for metal only. I wonder what the liabilities would be because a bodyshop is not allowed to perform a procedure that is not ok'd by the manufacturer (especially in such an area of strength) and even the panel bonding adhesive is a little touchy.

I think that'd be ricey. The whole point of a CF roof is to show that you're lightening the top and lowering the center of gravity. Overlaid CF means you're neither saving weight nor adding durability.

I want to just remove the entire moonroof(glass & motor) for now. The Spoon carbon roof is a long dream away.

naw i like my moonroof, I would like to keep it. I do personally think that the overlay would be somewhat pointless tho... Isnt that technically adding weight?

IDK maybe 1/2 lb for the overlay because it's a giant sticker.

The reason I want to remove the moonroof is :
1. I have rep Mugen visors
2. I never use it
3. I would be removing weight from the highest point on the car.
Here are a couple of pics of my interior but now there are no rear door panels too.

As soon as someone figures out how to turn off the airbag light after installing the buckets.

I'm surprised that you care about an airbag light when your entire interior is so gutted. I would figure even, that the amount of glare caused by reflected sunlight on that large white canvas would take care of that little warning light!
