So I was driving to work this morning and just my luck they are painting new lines on the roads well just my luck my rear driver side tire is cover and so in the inner fender well and lower part of my rear bumper, so how can i get this off? I know it will wear off the tire quick no big deal but what about the paint and inner fender?

I had a dealer drive my car through a freshly painted yellow reflective line, this was over a year ago, most of its gone now or covered by road grime, but you can still see a lot of it. The stuff is made to not come off and withstand some pretty harsh conditions.

Same thing happened to me after a week or so of ownership. Instead mine was under the rear bumper AND the sides. I got the big clumps off by just picking at it with my finger nail but the smaller dots are impossible. They are still there to this day.

***UPDATE***
I used some bug and tar remover on the bumper... NO MORE PAINT!!! Then for the wheel wells I went to the car wash. I used the high pressure soap and blasted the yellow out from the wheel wells. I think I need another pass to get all the stuff all the way up in there but it took it off!!! I was pretty close with the pressure washer on the plastic fender well trip and like magic it disappeared. And dont worry about damaging it because it takes rocks and other debris all day long! |

It was turtle wax bug and tar remover. It comes in a white can is really thick. Let it sit on there for about 10 minutes and wipes off. It make take a little wiping but definitely better than a bill from a body shop.

Yep, Turtle Wax Bug & Tar remover is one of the best little products to keep in your car cleaning arsenol. This stuff works on almost anything and doesn't hurt the paint. I highly recomend it. I just did a buddy's Saturn with it after he hit a parking lot pole with his quarter panel. Took all the yellow paint scarpes right off no problem. |
