Hood Insulator for CF Hood

So I picked up a new hood and hood insulator and I wanted to see if anyone else installed these together. See that there are no holes for the clips, it would appear that I have to drill the CF hood to make the insulator stick. The same has to be done for the the rubber bumper guards.

Any thoughts?

Or even better... and pics. Thanks.

Leave it off...save more weight. It will make the car sound louder. Also if there is an under hood fire that drops and supresses it I think.

I don't know how you would go around attaching the oem hoodliner but maybe you should look into this product as an alternative.

Hoodliner

Maybe your last hood wasn't the best of quality. I had a ViS hood on my old Integra and had no problems with bubbling. Or it could've been a defective hood.

^that sucks, i remember seing that thread, How long did it last?

I also have a cf hood and wanted to put my stock one under there, but no spots to do it like u said, i have a VIS btw.

That dynamat might work pretty well if u dont feel comfortable drilling into ur cf hood.

The dynamat does look like a good option, I'm just worried about all the reflected heat back down on my engine.

The hood started to dimple after about 2 months. It then got worse very rapidly. Some crazy **** if you ask me. Makes me question the quality.

So either no one adds the insulator to their hood... or very few people have carbon fiber hoods.

the only option is to drill into your CF if you want the OEM Hood Insulator and the rubber strip. all CF hoods to my knowledge regardless of make requires this to be done.

mine has been on for a while and no dimples on the hood. but the sending to the bodyshop to get recleared, the clear that came w was very thin. I think the issue u have is w that brand.

I am the Juggernaut!!!
AIT is like the top manufacture of CF products. There is no skimping with them. I'm really confused as to why the new one has the bubbles already.

I'm in sort of the same boat but I'm looking for a heat reflecting tape to use instead. I'm not afraid to drill my hood because I already planned on installing the Aerocatch locking hood pins on mine.
