How to remove dealership emblem?

Does anyone know of an easy way to remove the dealership emblem. My dealership has a huge and ugly emblem that I would love to remove. Will a hair dryer or heat gun work or will I need something else?

Lightly use a hair dry or heat gun so you dont melt the paint, and then use floss to get behind the decal to separate the glue, then finish off with an adhesive remover like goo gone.

Wow. I was going to post "heat gun, floss then goo gone."

Well done!

then go back and smack your dealer for putting an emblem on the car in the first place....
The only thing dealers should be allowed to do is put a license plate frame on. That way you can just take it off if you don't like it.

I hated a few years ago when they actually had metal badges that were either bolted on or held on with pins. If you removed them, you had holes in your trunk....grrrrrr!

Take it back to the dealer and ask them to take of the emblem. it's your car now not theirs. you don't need to advertise for them.

Send them a bill for advertising for them.

they cant even do that right. A lot of us have holes in our front bumper from mounting the front plate.

Bought 2 cars from one dealer. My Si sedan has it drilled in the bumper and the LX sedan does not.

inconsistant fools!

ouch, not an issue in Canada though as front plates are mandatory. There are already holes there anyway so they just attach the plate frames to it.
Wish we could have that clean front bumper look without plates though.

Mine just came off by peeling it....if it hasn't been baked on by any hot sun you might can try just peeling it. If not...hair dryer just like everyone else said.

since goo gone is a petroleum distillate, be very careful using it on your paint..

in fact, you'd be better off with isopropyl alcohol

Sorry, I have already thrown it away. It was rather easy to take off though.
