Plenty of good reasons, there are lots of films out there in the 50% to 70% range that reject MORE heat than "limo".

Not to mention, 99% UV rejection for less skin cancer and less interior fading.

Let's not forget personal taste (I personally think anything darker than 35% looks ghetto).

DarkDan, I think you should change your name to LightDan... J/k I tooo like the lighter shades with more rejection. what did you wind up going with? I'm leaning to wards Ceramic like Formula one or Huber optic. I live in Cali so I'll prolly do 70% front 50% rear and 35% rear rear

I get that a lot. LOL.

I install a decent amount of Geoshield ceramic and LLumar Axcess. Sadly, I'm not a big enough shop to carry FormulaONE, but I love their Pinnacle film.

Would you reccommend tinting the front windshield and front drvers and passengers 60% Huber and Rear Sides 50% and Rear Rear 50%

Yah i totally liked the dark tint when i was in my teens, but now that im older, im starting to like more subtle things.
I cant stand limo tint, unless its all windows around. I hate to see limo tint in the rear and light tint up front. Its like half stepping. haha

Granted the cops prolly can't tell you have 60% tint on your front windshield, i was under the impression that you could not tint the front windshield except for the very top of it

(Edit: It would be really nice to have that though just to reflect alot of the sun/heat)

It's illegal in all states to tint the windshield.

60% on the windshield is going to be pretty dark actually. The windshield is already about 75%. So 75% and 60% would give a net transmission of 45%.

If you must tint the windshield, Huper Optik does have a 77% (it's called ACHT) that rejects about 45% of heat.

Here is 60% Huber on an E60 M5 Entire windshield.

And 50% on the rest of the M5:

I will look into the 77% you are talking about. Thanks Dan for all your info on tinting. Is there a way that they can go all the way up to the windows edge on roll up windows, and make it so if you rub your finger it wont pull the tint off?

Yes, there are some methods of install that some tinters use. But like you can imagine sometimes peeling can happen (rarely if done right though).

I just leave a small gap at the top and no one has ever complained. For a while there I was doing the no gap installation and basically it came down to the fact no one wanted to pay me enough to do it (it takes longer and is more work).
