Pioneer AVIC-Z3 is out now
I just saw this today in Sound Advice for $1800 brand new. I didn't even know it was coming out at all. Looks like they made the 3d icons alot better along with more points of interest

There's been talk of it around the net recently. The changes between it and the Z2 seem to only be slight software changes. If I where buying now I'd just go for a Z2 which you could get for cheaper. I got mine new from soundomain for $1600 shipped back in may of 07.
I forgot how much I loved my Z2, I really have to get it back in my new car. And yes, the music library is still 10gb with 20gb didicated to the system. The file format for the music is proprietary and dosen't take up a lot of space while still sounding great. I had about 10 cd's worth of music on mine when I shut it down and still had 96% of music storage left. |

It rips cd's to the hard drive either as you listen to it, or as long as the cd is in the deck and you are listening to xm or something. Only way to get it on is by "real" cd though. You can't copy a data cd of MP3's to it but if you make those MP3's into a cd readable by any ol' cd player then it'll copy them onto it's hard drive. It also has a built in cd database so for most cd's it "knows" the artist, album, and song name when you copy it over, even if it's not on the cd. Last edited by volvo9; 05-15-2008 at 09:23 PM. |

Pretty much everything is an accessory, which sucks. With my Z2 I wanted to use Aux input but I found out it's NOT part of the deck's standard inputs, so I had to buy, wire in, and power ANOTHER box. I said f*ck that so just used the A/V in audio connectors. It works fine but I have to touch the "ok" button that says "don't watch movies while driving, blah blah..." |

anyone buy from www.TheCameraProfessionals.com avic z3 is going for $1029 plus 49.99 for shipping, is that a good deal? im debating on getting this with the bt module and ipod module. figure it'll run 1300 for everything not including dash kit of course. do you guys think this is better than the f700bt series? or what about avic Z2 i saw some for 800 on ebay and was wondering if its worth the extra 300 bucks for teh Z3?
