sub fiberglass box...

anyone in here know much about fiberglassing? ive done a few projects before, but they never came out 100% to what i would have liked, so ill ask a few questions before i go any further....

im making a box that fits in my spair tire well. the bottom section is molded and very strong so far, it doesnt flex at all, but it only has 2 layers of fiberlgass matting. even though it doesnt flex, should i add more layers to it to be sure? and how many?

for the upper part of the box, i have some 100% polyester fabric to stretch over the baffle. is this ok to use? ive read up that some people recommend 50% polyester, 50% cotton. id rather do it right the first time, so if i have to go out and buy some other fabric, id rather do it now that have to cut the box up later to redo it.

BTW, progress pics coming soon

I'll say after learning what materials are needed and how much crap goes into getting started and how noxious the fumes are, I can see why the custom shops get some big coin for them.
