peswips/ avic-d2 problem

hey guys another quick problem hopefully.

08 civic si, with avic-d2 installed. Peswipes steering wheel controller for Sony/pioneer. I have acc power, ground, and the white wire connected to the pink 20pin aux stereo harness. I have the peswipes set at mode 3 but can't get it to program and function. Did I miss somthing , and what is it about the mode button?

so nobody else but me is running a peswips steering wheel controller in there 8th gen?
