1.) Yes, buy the scoche adapters for the front or make your own.
2.) Yes, You will be very happy with the Alpine PDX, as for the components Ive never heard the components sets before, I would skip the rear speakers and buy a better set of components for the front. 3.) With that setup, NO but if there are running wires to the front, why not do it? |

Check out this cool thread for additional ideas of SQ system on a budget.
My advice, is buy used - your get a great product for 1/2 the budget. Last edited by MaXaZoR; 05-12-2008 at 01:46 PM. |

Will I get enough bass out of this system? I don't plan to install a sub in the future so I was hoping I could configure the system to pump out the lows+mids+highs in the back and just have the highs and the mids in the front.
The package also comes with a LOC, but I don't know what they're planning to use and if I should just get the Scosche myself and tell them to use that instead. (I'm afraid they'll use cheap wiring kits/LOC's to hook up the SPXs/SPRs) |

$850 is so much money... it's a decent price if you go with professional installation, and if you are sourcing everything from them (some places require it?)
but if you go the self install / ebay route, i think the hardware can be had for $500, and if you add $50 for wires, you are still $300 ahead. the post about second hand is true... but i'd only get second hand solid state stuff (e.g., amps not speakers). |

re: LOC convertors; i don't know what the good brands are, i am sure you can google it to find out. BUT, here's another thought: the last time i did this, i just bought an amp that took line level inputs. it was an xtant amp, and its RCA inputs can actually take high level inputs... so i just got these RCA cables, cut them, spliced them into my rear speaker wires... done. and saved on RCA cables + loc's too. |
