Navi card reader problems
So I decided to buy a PCMI card reader to use my SD card for music in my Si. I put some music on the SD card and played it in my car and the music plays but there is a bunch weird noises and it sounds almost like the songs are skipping. Has anybody else had similar issues with their card reader or navi unit?

It does sound like a bitrate problem or a bad transfer from computer to card.
Read the Troubleshooting section in the manual and see if that helps??

Also, I get the impression that you have been using the SD card previously. For what was it used before this purpose and how long have you had it? There are some devices that do add additional files/formatting for their own purposes...especially some PDA's and cameras. You may want to try formatting the card, checking it for disk errors, and then starting over again. These are just my initial recommendations about your situation. |

The music on the SD card I am using is all in mp3 format and it is running at 192 kbs. The card is brand new and I haven't used it for anything else. When I first put music on the card I put some some pictures in jpeg format (I was wondering if I could view photos on the Navi), but that was it.

The card reader was from i.connect I believe (Fry's electronics sale $1.99), and the CF is from PQI (Fry's electronics sale $170). No problems what so ever, and plus it's cheaper and easier to use the flash and the built-in controls. Copared to buying and installing the honda IPOD dock in the glove box.
I dont mind leaving the flash in the car, but i don't want to leave my IPOD in the car, and the have to continuslouy plug and unplug the IPOD. Plus my IPOD is a 2 gig Nano, the Flash card i have is 8 gigs

iPod is the way to go! It's just a shame that the music link GUI with NAVI is so crappy -Harmon Kardon device is so much better but the control is lame and the RF modulator sucks compared to something hard-wired into an aux input.
How many of you are going to keep the XM subrscription past the 3 month trial? I always said I'd never pay for radio (since I listen to the iPod 24/7) but the Comedy station is AWESOME on long trips. I'm actually considering extending it for a year.
