I am pretty sure he can't afford a 1500$ system... I know Sony isn't the best stuff out there, but for 414$, could be a good deal with reasonable performance, no?

+1 for JL! If your going cheap check out overstock. If nothing else at least get a good quality amp.

you need a wiring harness otherwise you will be cutting the factory wires, I don't care what anyone says - that is just plain stupid.

I really wish you would have done a little research before buying the sub/amp package.

While the amp is OK, the subs aren't - and usually a sub box is best if you build it to complement your sub(s). Also, buying from Sonicelectronix is risky....

you dont need that much for a good sounding stereo to the OP you just need a two channel LOC not a four. The one you listed will work but you might be able to find a 2 channel for less $$

you dont need a harness to wire up a line out converter. Your only attaching the converter two one speaker

Hmmm $400.00 bucks...

Amplifier: $170.00
HIFONICS BXi608 BRUTUS CAR MONOBLOCK AMPLIFIER AMP NEW! - eBay (item 290229482191 end time May-16-08 20:57:32 PDT)

Subwoofers: $186.00 for two
eBay Motors: KICKER CVR 12" COMP VR CAR AUDIO SUBWOOFER SUB WOOFER (item 270235852350 end time May-15-08 11:49:27 PDT)

Enclosure: $35.00 from local shop

Same system
Sub $59.00
Sony XS-L124P5B Subwoofers
Amp $175.00
Crunch P1500.1 Amp: Mono

Total $293.00 Plus say $60 for box and hardware to wire it up.

Now a better system.

Sub (one of these is plenty, a freind of mine has one of these in a suburban and it hits hard) $115
Alpine SWR-1022D Subwoofers
Amp $149
Alpine MRP-M500 Amp: Mono

Total $264 Plus say $60 for box and hardware to wire it up.

well thanks anyways but i already ordered the ones up top...im getting them hooked up this week...my friend is gonna do it, hes pretty good with civics. But this is just for starters, I could always switch the amp/headunit/speakers/ at a later time...i leave monday for tulsa oklahoma (i live in PA)...im doing truck driving over the road, so I won't be using my car much...by the time i get back i should have a completly different civic..

I'll post pics up this week! of what my car looks like and the speakers!

Once again thanks, and also for the people that said sony is junk...

Sony has been around and doubtful there goin anywhere, as far as them being junk...dont think so..i had two 12's that lasted me 6 years and still kept going..didnt sound like shit either!

I dont care for sony car audio personally. I just think its the popular thing to dislike anything they make. Your not cool unless you hate on them

truthfully, its not a bad system it crushes pretty hard, although it would crush ALOT harder with a aftermarket stereo...I leave tomorrow for tulsa oklahoma (im going to truck driving school for a refresher course for a week then i head out OTR for about 4 weeks) so in that mean time im gonna be savin up money in the bank and come home and start tearin apart tha car, ima put all new front and rear speakers along side a new aftermarket stereo, this one in here now is poo. lol. But other then that, its not bad i would recommend this system, i got it 4 days after i ordered it and it came with amp kit, and everything but i had to buy a LOC. so thats the hassle, and best buy hooked it up for me...i know i know..i usually hook shit up but civics got too much shit to **** with i didnt feel like doing it lol..

but although i am leaving tomorrow dont forget about me! i'll be back, and i'll post pics when i get back too..:) have a great time and be safe!
