Loc?
well i hooked up a system today in my friends 2007 2 door SI. There is a problem with the JL audio 10w1 over heating. He has the factory non-nav HU so we ran a loc off the 2 rear 6.5's and un-hooked the 8" sub. the amp is a fosgate 300w @ 4 ohms with the gain at the hafe way point. what i do not ubderstand is the sub got so hot it was smoking. any thoughts on what the problem could be? I have done many sound systems with no problems. this is the 1st time this has happened to me.
TIA. |

your wiring is wrong. check and recheck everything. make sure all the positive go to positive and negative go to negative.
do you have an inline fuse that's more than 30 amp (more than 30a is a no no for the 300watt amp)? the fuse should cut off if you have an inline fuse. |
