SCV and navi automatic day-night switch not working

i got a 2008 civic ex-l w/ navi about a month ago and i have to say it's a phenomenal car, i really love it. unfortunately, i have two small but frustrating problems that have really begun to annoy me. the first is that the speed-sensitive auto-volume control doesn't appear to work when i go at faster speeds. second, for some odd reason the navigation screen, which i set to auto, won't switch from day to night settings when i turn the cars' headlights on. i was wondering if anyone else had encountered these issues in the past and if so, what steps they took to remedy the problem. should i take the car back to the dealership and have them check it out???

for the day to night switch, make sure your gauge console brightness isnt set to max, the button on the left side of the steering wheel, if its set to max it will stay on day settings and will not switch over to night.

Don't know about the speed sensitive volume though. I never really played with it on my car.
