Audio Install Help?

I need help?

I have an amp/cap/receiver/upgraded speakers. Trying to do a full switch in Honda LX 08.
I know how to wire the 4 guage wiring kit and install the speakers. I will be using 3 pair rcas one for each channel, but how do i get speaker wire to the amp? Can i tap off the rear speakers? if so how? also for finding the remote wire how would i find the right one that turns on and off when car on? Also I have a rador with direct wire cable that I would like to install, were to a tap to get 12v power to turn in on? I couldnt find it in the fuse area?

Thanks
any help would be great!

This makes me believe that you may want someone to help you with this install or at least read up on this topic before you attempt it by yourself. Each speaker will need to each be individually rewired if you using a 4 channel amp.

As far as the remote turn on, run this directly from you reciever to the rear of your car.

There is a DIY for how to hardwire the Valentine 1 in the DIY section. I would follow the same instructions for your radar.

as for the speakers can't i tap into the rear instead of running wires to the front speakers?
the rador is not showing pictures for install.

May I ask what speakers/amps/receivers did you get for your setup?

if you tap into the rear speakers, you'd have to make the swap out front too which would get kind of complicated, and it would probably be easier and definately a lot better if your running aftermarket speakers to just run new wire for them.

there are some diy with pictures around think, but basically you just route new wire to your door speakers and tweeter up front then when they are connected you simply run the wire back(not next to the power cable by the way) to your amp and connect it there.

Then you can run the rca's from your amp up (and keep these away from the power wire too especially just run them up the passenger side underneath the plastic runners) to your head unit and just plug them in.

heres one I found--- Front Speaker Install

so instead of using the factory speaker wire place new wires to the speakers then to the amp? Example for the front i simply take 1 wire for each front speaker and instead of connecting it to the factory plug harness take that wire and run it to the amp? or plug it into the factory harness and tap into the same harness and run wires to the amp? Same going for the rear speakers? Thanks

you avoid the factory wiring all together. You run wire like you did for your power wire. Except dont run it next to your power wire and ya it runs basically from your amp to your speakers. And then the rca's run from your head unit to your amp.

The rca's send signals to your amp, then your amp takes them and amplifies them to send them through the speaker wire to your speakers.

So the receiver radio harness do i wire the speakers to radio? I dont think i would since i would be running new speaker wire to each aftermarket speaker to the amp. What wire gauge would you recommend for the speakers? Also when installing the front components would you put the crossovers inside the car or in the doors? Thanks for all you help!

If you want to tap into the factory wire, you can. However, I usually advice others just to bypass it altogether and run wire to the speaker directly from the amp.

Do what you want with the x-over. I put mine under the seat when I had passives. Just do what works for you. There's not wrong place to put them, really. As long as they're inside your car, you'll be fine.

I wouldn't go any larger than 14 gauge. I use 12 gauge on mine, but that's because I was nieve when I bought all the wire. Anything larger than 14 is a waste of money on components.

ok I think i can do this install now. as for the power wire keep that away from the others on one side. And the rcas, remote wire, speaker wires on other side. Were did you do the wires? Also for the Remote were did you tap into to get it. I just dont want amp staying on all the time. and the receiver when i get the harness i wont need to wire the speakers since be running new wires right? thanks

remote turn on is from the cd player.

I gutted my car and ran wires under the carpet. Power wire is right down the center. Right and left speaker/rca wires are ran on their respective sides.
