anyone with indash din stolen??

I wanna get an avic d3, but are very scare of being broken into. My house unfortunately doesn't have a garage. Plus, a couple years earlier, my accord was broken into. They smashed 2 windows, driver and passenger (i do not kno why they smashed the passenger side). Anyways, they took my pioneer h/u along with a 1000w rockford amp, and 2 12'' subs and cap. I worked all summer for that

to the point, any of you guys have had a double din like the d3 and got broken into??

Insurance companies offer aftermarket audio system coverage, sometimes its even included up to a certain amount.

So make sure your Car's comprehensive has a $0 deductible (doesn't cost much more really) Then get the stereo gear insured with a very low or $0 deductible and enjoy it.

In dashes are still stolen, but not as much as quicker to grab things like amps and subs.

If you live in a crappy area then you might want to reconsider it. I never worried about mine unless I had to travel to Rhode Island for work. Where the building was people where breaking into cars and stealing STOCK radios.... Someone's car was even so f*cked up that it could not be started.

If you are worried about it get a sensitive alarm that will detur thieves. They can still do the old smash and grab, but it'll be more of a pain to take the ass for them.

Simple solution: go with an OEM install and USE THE BOLTS that were holding the h/u & dash piece in originally.

The dash piece has 2 bolts under it that are hard as hell to get to. Once you get those off, you'd still have to unbolt the h/u from the dash unless a thief just ripped out your dash and took it with them.

So, he can still rip the whole dash out ?? so in that case there'll be more damage to the car lol

Dude, they're not going to be able to rip the dash out unless they've got some serious time on their hands.

Thieves go for smash and grab; not something that is bolted into a dash.

'sides, I've got full coverage, with pictures and receipts. That's the best backup plan you can have.
