Found this guy on ebay selling hardrives to turn z1/z2 into a z3 but is it true? Does it add features like hd radio that the z1/z2 were not capable for?

AVIC Z1 Z2 Z3 Upgrade to Z3 40GB HDD + Free Bypass - eBay (item 160228499267 end time Apr-12-08 18:31:09 PDT)

for 150 itd be worth it to find some cheap used z2 and pop this in there. Also just discovered a coollooking new jvc unit thats coming in may along with a nice new panny unit.

I think there has to be more to it than that. They bypass is hardwired on teh board, you remove 2 resistors and replace 2 others, and sever a trace.

But the software and some of the firmware is on the HDD, so there's no reason it wouldn't upgrade the unit to current specs.
