Soundgate Core Zune Cable Pack Review (Zune aux input and charging)

Soundgate is coming out with a device that will allow you to charge your Zune and interface with your aux input with out using the 1/8th inch jack on the Zune, so only 1 cable will come out of your Zune making for a neater install.

Currently this is a seed group early release unit, they are available on-line at Soundgate ZNCBLPAK CORE™ Zune™ Cable Pack The quantity is limited and they are pre-order right now

Installation was extremely easy, completely plug and play. You have two options for power, it comes with a cigarette lighter plug and it also comes with a fused hard-wiring harness. I am currently using the cigarette light plug, but plan on hard wiring it soon.

Before when using my Zune in my car, I had to turn the volume level on the Zune up really high and then the level on my radio also needed to be up pretty high as well, with the Soundgate piece, you no longer need to mess with the volume level on the Zune and the volume on the radio does not need to be as high either. The sound quality also seems to be improved noticeably.

I am very happy with this product, I no longer have to take my Zune in to charge all the time, sound quality is great. And after I hard wire it in, I won't have wires going everywhere.

If any one has any questions about this piece let me know, and if I can't answer them, I will forward it on to Soundgate.

I have a Zune, but it's a hassle plugging and unplugging the thing.

Well with this piece it isn't as much of a hassle, the only thing you have to unplug in the bottom connector, and not the 1/8th inch jack, and then when you go to plug it back in you just have that one this to plug back in.

Everything can remain hidden in your car and you only have that one cable out.

Also when you unplug your Zune the battery is going to be charged so you don't have to worry about running your battery down while listening to it in your car.

IMO this is definitely worth the price.

Hmm, I may look into that once I reinstall my Z2 in my new car. It's kind of a pain not having the player charged while listening to it in the car. I always liked the one plug hookup with ipod integration.

Yea, it's a big plus having it charged too... I hear they may be coming out with a piece that will allow you to control the Zune with the factory radio.
