ok- new problem! i just got my original navi disc warrantied (ver 6.55) but i got the upgraded disk as my "special gift". when will there be a hack for the 6.62 version disc? or is it possible to use the old hack just changing the filenames a bit to compensate for the version change..?

2008 Update!

It's been verified that version 6.62 still works with the splash-screen swap.

The instructions are virtually the same for 2007 models (v6.55 & 6.56) and can be found here.

ATTENTION Non-U.S. and Acura folks:

I believe I've figured out the procedure to update anyone's splash screen, regardless of your version number or DVD country region.

If you:
  • are still interested in changing your splash screen;
  • have a DVD version other than 6.11, 6.55, 6.56, and 6.62;
  • have a DVD country other than North America and Southern Canada;
  • have an Acura;
  • just need general assistance;

...contact me via email for assistance and instructions. I'm here to help

When you start your car, a screen on the navigation system comes up as the system loads. The picture is below. Sorry, I couldn't find a bigger picture.

There are a few Acura forums who have threads with a few custom Acura splash screens, but that's about it really.

If there's anything particular you're looking to put on your screen, just mention it and I might have time to whip up something. No promises though..

If you use the provided splash screens, then you can skip creating your own.

Why are you freezing at the command prompt? You skerd?

Is there any chance that this can void my warranty on the Navigation?

the techs @ Honda aren't smart enough to realize the change in screen... even if they do i highly doubt a simple change in splash screens is going to void anything given that ur not changing any of the real programing, just the startup screen...

Okay, than I'm going for it. I'm going to use the pre-made blue 8th Civic screen. Represent!
