Bass Worx System 2007 Civic Lx
Hello i have a 2007 civic lx with the bass works system installed...it does come with the amplifier and the 2 upgraded bass speakers now i was wondering..if i want to install 2 10 inch subs and an amp using my stock deck..can i use a LOC and tap into one of these rear speakers for audio into the amp ? and i know this is a noob question but once i figure out how to get audio into the new amp...how do i power it? thank you very much

This is a bad idea IMO. The amp that comes with the Bass Kit has a bass-boost circuit, which I believe is centered at 80Hz. You want your sub amp to see a flat input, not one that's boosted at that frequency. You should instead tap the LOC off the INPUT to the Bass Kit amp, which is the original speaker wires. If the installer followed the Honda instructions, the original speaker connectors will be wrapped in foam under the rear deck.
WRT running power, do a search. It's been covered extensively. |
