What brand is good for a multi channel amplifier now?

Been out of the car audio scene for a long time now 10+ years and started looking into getting a nice multi channel amp but i'm out of the loop on what is good. Any suggestions?

I used to love the old Soundstream Reference Series but it looks like as a company they arent doing so well lately.

I'll be doing a custom install so i'd like the amps to match if i cant find a good 5 channel amp.

I used to have 2 Mmats 12" subs in my 94 Civic Si Hatchback. They were awesome subs.

I just ordered an MTX TA3404 a few minutes ago. I love those amps, and I'm looking to get my 7801 fixed too!

On a low budget, I suggest the alpine MRA-F350, it's a theater amp (surround sound -- DTS, Dolby Digital, and Dolby Pro Logic II). It sounds great and pushes 50 watts RMS per channel, plus it uses optical for audio input (NO interference in the audio signal unlike RCA, I switch to the RCA Aux input and the thing whines like no other) -- I have a toslink switch to switch between my Alpine DVA-9860 HU and Mvix MX760-HD hard drive media player.

I got mine from crutchfield.com as a scratch and dent for only $150 :P On ebay they're between $200 and $300 from what I've seen.

kicker 5 channel or JBL 6 channel are great amps. I personally think the kicker is a really strong amp and it will hold up for a long time. I have installed a lot and never had a problem out of any of them
