Amp turn on wire.

Does anybody know of a spot where i can get switched power (switched by the factory radio) for my amplifiers without pulling my whole dash assembly apart?

I did a search and found nothing.

The remote turn on wire is Light Blue behind radio. You will want to use that for the remote wire and not an accessory wire.

So ...
I took my radio out (not unplugged, just out of the dash) and checked all of the wires and none of them appear to be a remote turn on.
I paid special attention to all of the blue wires. The light blue wire had power to it even when the power was turned off.

So my next question is ...

Does anybody know a good spot to get accessory power from?

Not sure myself, but you can use one of these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/PAC-TR-4-LOW-VOL...QQcmdZViewItem

One wire to ground, one to the rear speaker, one to 12v and one to amp.

I have one, let me know if you're interested.

if u got factory amp, you can tap in below the shifter assembly. easier than pulling the dash apart. thats what I did

In my LX sedan there is a connector on the passenger side next to the door, accessible through the glove box. It is used for the antenna and has a turn-on 12v control. I spliced into that for my amps.

problem is...well with NAVI...the HU never goes off!!
even if u turn the audio off..u will still get a signal...that sucks cuz ur amp stays on and u get that low hissing sound...and believe me i've tried everything from, clean sweep, lc8, all noise reduction thing recommended...none work. it stays on and provides a signal cuz the navi needs to speek...even if it's not in use....go figure...
for the regular head unit i don't know if it will be different...
i wish there was a way to turn off the amp when audio power was off....unfortunately it looks like there is not...
if anyone figures this out be sure to let me know...i'll monitor this thread also.

Get a switch and put it whereever you want inline with the remote wire. Then turn it off when you get out/turn off car/want amp off. :)

Can't really see it because it's small and my camera sucks. But the red portion on the switch says ON and black says OFF. Handy and compact. Would be perfect for your situation because you can hide it very easily.

That's ghetto, just get a PAC TR-4 like I said and tap off the rear speakers.

Easiest place for me to tap into accessory power was into the power line of the 2nd cig lighter that's in the center console. I tapped into it underneath about where the cup holders are. so essentially you have to take the center console apart. not very hard, take your time.
I used that tapped power wire to power my trigger, which in turn triggers my amp to turn on.
If you're using the stock head unit I'd suggest buying an audio control LC8 or JL audio cleansweep. I'm having underpowering-the-amp issues by tapping into a speaker line and sharing the signal.

Pulling the stock HU out really isn't hard! I was very very afraid of pulling my brand new car apart, but I didin't break anything, No harm Done! It's super easy to do.

Just tap into the Purple Wire w/ Silver Stripe on main radio harness, w/ a T-Tap.

I used a multimeter to make sure it's the amp turn on.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. But I don't believe you can get to it from the panel under the HU.

Do a search, but I've seen a guy on the forums also finding that wire somewhere in the fuse box and tapping from there, that might also be an option.
