Well i know it is not 100% complete or perfect w/ the cracks and paint and such, but with that being said,, dayum! It's sick, I can't wait until this type of install gets to the aftermarket, oem market for those of us without the skill/patience/time to do ourselves.
I think it looks pretty damn good in the pics too and look foward to further updates! DS |

long time man... hows yours comming? i just got started on mine again a month ago... and now im having a whole hose of problems... that unfortunetly im gonna have to take back to mp3car... like the screen goest to standby every bootup, the thing wont hibernate and my video drivers spazz-out on me and the screen goes blue on start up... then when booting into VGA-safe mode it stalls 20-30 min is if something heavy is being done... you know like 3 installations at once while downloading... ---to the rest... thanks, thanks alot... without your constant nagging, hounding and prodding for immidiet updates and pictures i wouldnt have gotten this far... and that being said, i would like to start on my sub enclosure soon and the cam enclosures just as soon as the carputer is done... recently im working 12h days and try to get 8h sleep a nigh but its ussaly 6  than and side projects, like photo shoots... now im gonna be another 2-3 days editing pictures and uploading to wesites... dam, how i found the time in a month to do this, i dont know... but by next month HOPEFULLY it will ALL BE DONE!!!, ok next deadline, for a 100% compleated carputer it..... wait for it..... drum roll........ .... the CiviC holiday... yes in canada we have a holliday called the "civic" holyday. no one really knows what its for of why it got started but most of us get it off  .... NEW DEDLINE! August 04th

lol yeah man its been a long time. my carputer is done except for me pushing the software farther and farther. im about to the point where i need a faster processor cause im making the pc do alot at once. oh well.. its really never ending..
heres my intro thread at this site. so you can check out whats been done.. i always said a 10" screen would be sick in the si but more work then i wanted to do :P introduction |

i actully got the idea to paint my dash the colour of the car from him... i was going to do a more stock look before i saw how this looked...

what are you guys using for a power supply? I would think that if you have it running on 12volt rather than 110 you might have problems from the AC from the alternator. maybe a second battery to make to signal more constant.

your normal computers use a 110v PS which breaks down to 12v, 5v, and 3.3vdc. In a car you already have a 12v dc source,(your battery/charging system) so you use whats called a dc to dc powersupply. these normally incorporate a startup/shutdown controller as part of the PS so your ignition switch can control turning on and off the pc. hope that answers your question. not to mention your more then likely only going to pull a max of 20amps which is only slightly more power being drawn then a head unit
