If you choose to replace the factory speakers: keep in mind no matter how much you spend on them, the sound quality will be limited by the quality and volume of power you supply them. Meaning, it's pretty silly to spend $300 on a component set, or even $150-200 on a nice coaxial set and expect them to sound amazing using the factory amplifier.
If you want big sound you need big (and clean) power. Purchase a 5 1/4" or 6 1/2" component set for the front, and replace the rears with coaxials. Power than by a decent Class AB 4-channel amp and you are set. If you want brand recommendations, I'm particularly partial to Alpine. The Type-R Component & Coaxials are nice speakers. They also make budget friendly 4-channel amplifiers that are a pretty good bang for the buck (Look at the MRP series) |
