XM install in a navi .... outrageous!

Got this quote to add XM to a EX Civic Navi.

Xm Radio = $783.00
Xm Radio Attatchment = $46.00
Xm Radio Antenna = $99.00

Total = $928.00

labor = $278.40

Grand total = $1206.40

Criminal, what are others paying?

The XM antenna is incorporated with the navigation antenna on the roof (I think). All you should have to do is sign up and you're done.

Dunno about coupes cause I don't have one..but SEDANS (EX NAVIS) do NOT come with XM..they are XM ready and nothing else which means you have to have the XM system installed...and the prices listed were close to what I was told for mine as well.

BTW the Navi ant is in the dash right above the the left of the head unit about 6 inches up on the dash not in the roof.

This is true. I heard the coupes came with the XM kit already installed. I just ordered my XM kit for my EX sedan w/NAVI. A friend of mine and I are going to tackle it, hopefully next weekend. So, just to add fodder to the thread:

My EX sedan w/NAVI didn't come with XM installed. It is a dealer add-on which I wasn't willing to pay $1000-$1200 to have installed.

That's absolutely ridiculous.

If the EX Navi Coupe comes with XM radio preinstalled, then the EX sedan should as well.

I don't like some of these things foreign car dealers pull. Doesn't make them much better than American ones.

That is about right. It doesn't make any sense to me to not have the XM in the sedan but have in factory installed on the coupe. I mean, what's the reasoning behind that?! That makes no sense at all!

Bottom line: Give the coupe owners a silver stripe on the door panel and give the sedan owners factory installed XM! :)

I knew I wasn't crazy, who knows why it comes installed on the coup.

What parts are required? I'll do this myself or take it to anyone but a dealer.

It's a friggign crime

A Honda Customer Service rep called me a couple of months after I bought my EX Sedan with Navi. I said I loved the car, but my big complaint was XM and how it came standard in coupes and how you had to pay about a $1000 or more to have it installed in the sedans. She said she had a lot of complaints about that. I hope Honda hears that and changes it for 07, but not like it will do us 06 EX Sedan owners any good.

Add that to the IPOD adaptor being an absolute piece for $350 installed and its enough to make me pretty mad about their audio options and setup.

Maybe they figure the extra doors are a fair trade for the XM :)

I just need to know the parts and will take it to my guy.

The Ipod connecter is viewed across the entire product line (Honda/Acura) as an embrarrasment. We're lucky to have the aux cable. I'm really psyched about the PC card, gonna get me a big old carf and load her up a few gig worth!

Just need a my build date ..... promised 6/11, still no word.

You guys do know you can buy an XM Kit from Best But that you install if yor head unit is XM Ready. Its the exam same as the one the dealership sells. I just installed it on my Si non Navi. Works like a charm. Only difference is the sterring wheel control wont work for changing channels for some odd reason.
This is what it looks like : http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Terk-...oductDetail.do

I would post the bestbuy link but the site wont work at work for some reason.

This is helpful. I thought about going to Best Buy, Tweeter or Cartoys. Someone has to be able to install this with 100% functionality for less then a damn dealership.
