Got an aftermarket stereo? How many watts are you running?
Hey All,
I am researching what I want to put in for my system and I am curious how many watts you guys are running an NOT getting any problems, such as light dimming etc. I basically am trying to find out how much power I have to play with. (I have an LX sedan) Also please tell my how much real power you are running, I am not interested in the "I am running a 3000 watt Pyramid amp". Thanks for the input. Jim |

I have mild/minor dimming with 600 watts RMS on two JL Audio 12W3v2's with a Hifonics ZX6000. It's a class A/B amp though, so I'd probably have less current draw and less dimming if it were a decent class D amp like a Phoenix Gold Xenon x600.1 though.
I would say you would be cool with 800 watts RMS as well. I'm going to try more and more wattage, little by little, though, and see what happens. It'll involve borrowing people's amplifiers, however. :P |
