Three-way speakers... split for tweeters?

Does anyone know where the split is for the signal going to the tweeters and the signal going to the doors? Also, what kind of crossover is in there? I assume it's just a capacitor...
I'm looking to put in a custom three-way component speaker setup with a custom made crossover for the specific drivers I choose (I have a lot of experience building speakers... :) ) I need to know where the split is so that I can splice the new crossover in there and have treble going to the tweeters, and mid and bass going to the doors.

Thanks,
J

Why not run your own higher quality wire? If you're going through so much trouble you might as well go all the way.

Yeah, I thought about it... maybe I should. That means I have to find the speaker wires themselves

I know what you mean. I just dampened the trunk and doors on my LX sedan with Scosche Hyperflex and it helps alot. Next up is installing Polk MMC650's in the doors, Infinity Basslink in the trunk and Kenwood KDC-X889 in the dash.
I'm going to run some low noise Canare speaker wire for the Polks and build my interconnects using Neutrik RCAs and Belden Brilliance cable.
