Hey I want to buy a viper alarm could you guys give me some advise? which model, or is there anything better?

I have the 5900 and its a great alarm, however their 1 mile claim is more like 6 or 7 blocks.

i think the more structures in the way obstruct the range but ive found a rele good deal on the 5900 on ebay
