AVIC Z1 recall?

Went to my local custom shop to get my z1 ordered and the guy told me that they weren't shipping any out till may 1st because they had a recall on the first wave that was sent out. His supplier did not give him any details, anybody else hear this?

I dunno about the Z1, but the D1 has a problem where the navigation runs backwards at times when it's not supposed to. Or it could be the CD's getting stuck (which my D1 does). Or it could be the fact that their maps are plain ass and outdated (like my D1 has). lol...as you can see, I'm not big of Pioneer's headunits right now. You pay that much money, you'd like it to work.

the maps on the z1 are very detailed and seemed up to date from what I saw when I was playing around with it last friday. But I haven't ever seen a D1 to compare the two...

Pioneer rep came by the other day and didn't say anything to me about a Z1 recall.

And about your problems with Pioneer....considering it's competition this year (Alpine ) the Z1 is amazing.

This is the first year in years that the pioneer lineup kills the alpine lineup from top to bottom. All because alpine refused to update there Ipod interface!

ehh...to hell with both of them. Pioneer's overrated. Alpine is stubborn. Screw em all. I'm not using a headunit this time.

Eh.....if you like them, go ahead. I prefer Alpine > Kenwood.

I hate red buttons. But Kenwood is going to destroy all comers this year. I've seen their lineup and it blows Alpine and Pioneer away.

WTF is a Sony? lol They've gone way down in terms of quality. Xplod's anyone?

eh, if you actually look at the specs, kenwood is pretty far behind.. i would put them slightly above pannasonic. Alpine and Eclipse seem to be in the lead right now, following Pioneer a little behind.

I would honestly put them in this order....Eclipse > Pioneer > Alpine

But with my car for now it will be JL Cleansweep > Everything. Even though I think next year I will be swapping in the next lineup of Eclipse's AVN5495

Eclipse's are nice cuz of their HV preouts and EQ options. But I know a couple guys that their screens went out after a week but some last a year without a problem.
