Sub problem...

Ok so a few weeks back i had two of my boys wire up my 2 subs, amp, and capacitor in my '07 FG2...all seems to work well except for this........Whenever I put the car on accessory and say sit for a moment, maybe changing a cd, blah blah...well when i turn the key from accessory to start the car....the subs go nuts but only until the car is started so its really only like 2 seconds long...to describe it...its just a long boooooooom. Has anyone had these problems, or already know what I am talking about and can help me figure it out, it only happens maybe a few times a week but its quite annoying...taking pictures or video wont be a prob...just let me know... Thanx

Karen...

Definantely a wiring issue. Check all the connections, see if and power wire is close by to the RCA's. Maybe Something's too close or not making a good connection.

the reason i asked is some older and cheaper brand/quality amps do shitty things like this like turn on pops and other noises..... I really think they rigged the wiring in some way.... are u using the stock radio? If u r using the stock radio im pretty sure they tapped an ignition wire or fuse in the fuse box for your amps remote turn on lead and that would explain ur subs goin apeshit when u go to turn the car on........If its something u dont feel comfortable checking urself take it to a car stereo shop and let them check it out so then u can at least know what the problem is....

Turn on pop, speaker buzz, etc are almost ALWAYS associated with bad grounds. So, I'm going on record here and saying they probably didn't ground your amp correctly.

I agree with biki, def turn on pop, caused by a bad ground, make sure your ground is secure to chassis and should only be a max of 3ft for safety reasons, also check fuse blocks etc to make sure the fuse and wiring is fully connected and sending an adequit flow of power, most amps nowadays have turn on delays to stop the pop, also if you power down your deck does it still do it,

Another possible cause/solution to your problem it could be your amp turn on wire, if its not from the deck, and just from an ignition power on source that could cause it, make sure you use the deck amp turn on to turn on your amps, this will make a soft turn on. Hope this helps

best buy wont help...they are the ones who did it to mine. its because they hooked your remote to something in your fuse box (they hooked mine up to my air bag system!) after awhile it popped the fuse everytime i turned the car on. if i turned the power off the subs would go ape shhh until i turned the stereo back on.
a guy at the dealer looked at it and fixed it for me by wiring it to the actual cd player (like it was supposed to be done)
