Parrot bluetooth kit vs portable kit - which one?

Hi all,

I'm currently trying to decide which style bluetooth kit to get for my civic. the first style is a parrot-style kit that's fully installed into the vehicle and integrates with the car's sound system... the other is a portable unit that clips onto the sunvisor. any help to flesh out the following lists would be greatly appreciated :) (currencies are in AUD)

Parrot kit disadvantages:
- more expensive (~$400 installed)
- fixed to the current car
- have to install the unit and a microphone somewhere

Portable kit disadvantages:
- have to remember to charge it every now and then
- have to remember to turn it on every time i get in the car
- have to reposition it everytime i use the sunvisor
- might fall off, especially the magnet-type ones
- much easier to be stolen / left at home
- sound quality won't be as good

I'm leaning towards the parrot as it just seems 'cleaner' (and also the 3100 diy on these forums is fantastic) - but what do you guys think?

I worked at Fry's Electronics a few weeks back and sold a few of these products but didn't know shit on them.

What I do know is that the Motorola clip-on one sucks ass, don't get it. The other Motorola one that connects to the stereo system in the car is good, but make sure you get it professionally done. Everyone we had was returned because people would attempt to do it themselves and they would **** it up. But from people I've heard talk about it that know's about BT kits say that's one of the best ones.

The Parrots I don't know much about but there were few returns on those, so.

One thing I do know is that Motorola sucks... Don't ever buy any of their headsets. If there is a car kit made by Jabra or Plantronics, go for those. They are one of the better brands out there.

Yesterday at a car show I realized that the minikit was rechargeable, which took it out from my wish list.
I’m planning to get the CK3000. I’m putting the mic in the sun roof console, where the mic for the navi should go and the control unit behind the steering wheel.
