yea it will work. but for me, running my subs off my rear speakers does not sit well. so im sorry to thread jack, but is there any way i can hookup my subs to the stock radio using my rca cables instead of taping into the rear speakers? even better, could i control my 2 12"s with the built in sub controller for that poor excuse for a sub on my rear deck

All you need to do is take your line-output converter and splice the positive and negative leads together. You can then connect those to the factory subwoofer amplifier INPUTS on your factory amplifier in the center console/dash.

I am doing this with my car, and I have done it with numerous other vehicles and it is a nice little feature that many people are surprised by and love.

If you decide not to do this, simply go behind the radio and tag your line-output converter to your front speaker wires.

no the factory amp is a series of plugs with amp inputs/outputs.

If your are just trying to get signal to an amplifier for your subwoofer, then yes, a line output converter tapped off the factory subwoofer inputs will give you the correct signal to be able to still utilize factory sub control with your aftermarket sub.
