Best Sound deadening?

I need to put some kind of sound deadening material in the trunk of my EX coupe, and I wanted to know the best brand to go with. I know about Dynamat but is there anything that is just as good but not quite as expensive?

eDead is not as expensive... about half the price. Http://edesignaudio.com

I used it in my doors and in my trunk. I used v1 and v1se2

Google it, seriously, there is actually a link to this article this dude wrote where he compared almost all of the sound deadening out there. He did a heat test, audio test etc;

I personally used B-Quiet. They are decent. You can even use stuff from Home Depot or whatever. Foam etc;

RAAMmat BXT is what I'd use if I had to pay for deadening materials, but I still like Dynamat's line of products better than anything else I've used.

What good would answering that question do if you've never used Dynamat either?

Yeah Dynamat is just a overrated name in my book. I've used dynamat before...not the Xtreme one, but the regular one and with B-Quiet Ultimate (what I have now)...it sounds the same. I still have about 25 sqft. Left.

Agreed, the regular Dynamat, which I'm not sure they even produce anymore is WAY overpriced but the Extreme is definitely worth the money.

RaammatBXT is great. I have it on my doors. I ordered some ED v1SE2 for my trunk and honestly if I could go back and purchase something else besides the ed mats, I would. I preferred the BXT's aluminum backing to the edead's mylar. The mylar made the mat soft and way to flexible.

I need to order more for my trunk lid and rear deck and was thinking of giving second skin a try. They might be more expensive but I guess they're suppose to be some quality stuff.

Second Skin or Raamaudio. Dynamat Extreme is pretty good stuff.

I'm using SS's Spectrum and Overkill. Good stuff.

I've used 3: Dynamat, Second Skin, Raammat.

My opinion: Dynamat is not an option. The price vs performance ratio is low. Simply put, it's not worth the money.

Second Skin & Raammat are both GREAT options. They have their differences, and to me, second skin is the "better" of the two products but it costs a little bit more.

For overall price vs. performance you can't beat Raammat.

Go to Home Depot and pick up a roll of Grace Company Ice and Water Guard, I am pretty sure thats what it is. I believe it's around 60.00, but you get 100sq feet. AT first it will smell like tar, but that will go away shortly. I lined the F#% out of my other civic and I could not believe how quiet it was after. You can't go wrong with this stuff. It is located with the roofing supplies.

here here. I've used eDead for years! both the foam based and the standard stuff. The new version is GREAT vs. the old stuff. B Quiet is ok as well...but I like the eDead better overall. and it's inexpensive! tell Ben that Vince sent you :)

I used 30 on my trunk area and got most of it done. I just need a tiny bit more on the lid. So yea 39 is enough.

RAAMmat BXT FTMFW!! Rick is BY FAR the best person I have worked with. He gives great deals and his product is by far the best I've worked with. No heat gun or roller needed. PLUS if you worked w/ sound deadeners before you know how much your hands get cut up. Not so w/ RAAMmat.
