Installing aux in on aussie sedan

HI Guys.

I'm trying to install an aux in on my aussie right hand drive VTI civic.
I followed a PDF i found at college hills honda to look for the connector.

I took the shifter out, the leather trim, and the little pocket, but found no 6 pin connector for me to connect the aux in.

In australia they don't sell the civic with aux in, so i was wondering.

would our stock radios support the aux in, but the cable is just not there?

can the cable be somewhere else?

does anyone have the pinout for the aussie radio?

I'd like to make sure the radio does support aux in, and if it's only missing the cable, i dont mind dissasembling the dashboard to connect my own aux in cable there, but only if I can do it. otherwise it's too much of a hassle.

thanks guys.

I don't know.... I would assume it's the same radio and the wiring harness is missing for the AUX port. Your only option may be to open the dash and look. You can order the harness and other parts for the AUX from http://www.hondapartsdeals.com/honda_parts.php. I've been unable to find an Aussie parts store.

On another note - maybe you can get the part from CollegeHills, see Auxillary Jack - price $54

Thanks for that.

here's what i found yesterday.

Firstly I pull the shifter trim, and pocket out, followjng the instructions of college hills honda PDF on how to install the AUX kit.

I could not find a cable to plug the aux in, which made me think.
Either the aussie stock radio does not support AUX in. or the harness that takes the aux in signal from to back of the radio to next to the lighter is not there.

I pulled open the whole dash, following the instructions on how to install an aftermarket radio.

I found the radio does have an AUX in !!!!!!!!
which is great news, the harness is just not there.

I baliebe the aux in kit they sell in college hills does not include the harness from the back of the radio, just the jack and a cable to plug into that harness.

but i can be wrong.

Since i have not found anywhere to buy the aux in kit in australia or overseas who would ship overseas.
I'm building my own.

The plug at the back of the radio is a propietary thing, and i dont think i'm gonna be able to find it, so i'm going to be using computer plugs found in case LEDS that go to the mainboard.

On the other side of the cable i'll solder a 3.5mm jack with signal detection, and mount it on a hole in the pocket next to the shifter.

Might not be the best solution, but it should work.

any ideas, please let me know.

The way I read it is that you get all the parts listed in the PDF.

It's called Auxillary Jack. The part number is P/N 08A60-SNA-100. And the itemized list is:
Auxillary Jack
Auxillary Jack trim
Auxillary Jack harness
6 Self-tapping screws
4 Wire ties
2 Cushion tapes

All for $54.

Shipping questions? http://www.collegehillshonda.com/par...n/shipping.htm

I GOT IT!!!

I wanted to buy the aux in kit but i had the problem with college hills and honda parts deals not shipping overseas +
the problem of needing a harness from the stock radio down to next to the shifter. which is something that comes on the US models (but not the aussie ones) and is required to install the aux in kit.

I ended up building my own aux in
tricky thing cos i couldnt get the proper connector on the back of the radio, but i still managed to plug it in.

Anyways
I'll be trying to make a proper version soon, and who knows, maybe sell it :-p
