Navigation Disclaimer Screen

Anyone here know how to disable or by-pass the disclaimer screen that comes on after everytime you start the car. The navigation manual doesn't explain anything like that. I thank you in advance.

You can't. Its a feature to cover Honda from lawsuits.

I'm curious, what does the disclaimer say and how long does it stay on the screen?

It stays on until the "OK" icon is pushed or it will automatically switch to the clock. Here's a picture I appologize for the glare.

I've heard that the 07 models will have this warning, and on top of that, you'll have to stop the car, take it out of gear, AND put on the parking brake before you can change your destination or mess with the navi, simply because some retards out there don't know when to keep their eyes on the road.

That's a shame. Pretty soon you'll have to stop the car to insert a CD or change the radio station. Of course, with the Navi, I just watch the road, find the talk button, and wait for the beep. Then I say, "CD, Play Track 8" or "Radio, 105.1 FM."

Where did you hear this from? I'm getting a MY2007 Si with navi and that would really suck if it's true.

don't worry, there will be a way to get around that. just like there is a way to get around not watching dvds while you are driving. if its not already out someone will come up with it.

more than likely, you would have to send in the unit itself to get it hacked... thats what i've been hearing for quite some time.

I got into the DIAGNOSTIC screen...some neat stuff like YAW rate and tracks how many satelite your car is talking to. other things like, detailed info on ur nav unit, screen(color), touch screen setup and functionality...

press MENU,SETUP,CANCEL at the same time and it shoudl get u into the diagnostic page(i stole this from TSX website trying to change the welcome message but someone already said it didn't work so I didn't even bother. It just wont show "LOADING SOME FILE" like the older units.)

EDIT PIX...took it with my phone

I can't really see them doing that, can you? Talk about a TON of angry buyers. Plus, everytime I'm likely to be using the navigation system, I have a passenger. They can't fiddle with it just because I'm driving? Defeats the whole purpose. No more finding the closest gas station, restaraunt, anything.

I doubt that will really happen. That would totally defeat the purpose of having a navi. The voice control is for you to use it without looking or touching the unit.

When I checked out the Lexus IS250, they salesman told me that with their navi systems, you have to make sure the wheels come to a complete stop before fiddling with the navi as a safety precaution. I guess perhaps you can use it during traffic stops.

Idiots mess it up for the rest of us. It's just protecting us from ourselves.

I don't know where the "they will change this" rumor came from, but it sounds pretty baseless to me. Like someone else in the thread said, we have the voice commands for this exact reason - so you don't HAVE to touch it while driving. How inane.
