best 8" sub

I am looking for 2 8" subs that will be able to handle a 500 watt JL amp. I am looking to spend between 100-150 per sub (yes that means the W7 is out of the question). What would you guys recommend?

eD is some good stuff from what I've read. I'm interested to see what you feel about them after they're broken in and you've logged some hours listening to them.

PS - Did you pay $75/ea or $55/ea?

Let's just say it's good to be a member of another forum besides the 8th only.

Because the setup can only fit 8" subs. It is not deep enough for 10's. I could have gotten kickers when i bought the setup but i didn't like the way they sounded in Marvie's car when it was in there. They were quieter than the OEM sub IMO. I do like kicker though. I had 2 L5's in my old civic and hit close to 150db (louder than an airplane taking off)

I do like ED. However my first choice would have been RE

Takes .3 to .35 sealed and thermal of 175 watts each.

ED was good. They used to buy their subs from Image Dynamics and screwed them majorly on some money or something. A long story which lost them most of their customer base. And since they no longer get their subs from Image Dynamics, there is debate on the quality of their current stuff since it's not made by Image Dynamics any longer.

I'd recommend Image Dynamics for 8". I'd say ID for nay size but they are quality and get expensive. I shy away from ED because of their recent actions.

the subs were cheap enough that if they suck i can just resell them or just use them and hopefully they are better than the stock sub. I'm not really about the bass as much as i used to be so just as long as i can hear it and it doesn't sound like ass than its fine with me

thats actualy what im looking for in terms of bass. I was gonna go with one 12, but i like how those 2 8's were off to the side like that. Are those custom boxes or where can i get a set?
