XM Radio Antenna Location
Put in an Delphi Roady XT and didn't want the antenna just sticking out attached to the body somewhere so i worked the wire around the dash and out the antenna at the front of the dash and on the inside. Most of the time I get great reception. Put driving east at times or next to electric poles I tend to lose reception. Where did you put your antenna and how is your reception???

I have the Sirius One reciever and I have it sitting in the little empty middle area under the air conditoner and stuff. I run the wire underneath the steering column along the cut-off of the vinyl piece, up the side, and the antenna sticks way up on the upper dash near the windshield just to the left of the hump of the odometer. Its worked perfectly so far. But I'm not sure how big the antenna is for your XM model.

Its rolled up and tucked behind the centre console. A couple more pics of my install can be found here: http://www.8thgencivic.com/honda-civ...2-install.html

i mounted mine on the trunk right in the center. Best reception there. Do not mount it inside as the pillars or roof can block a lot of the signal. you might notice longer signal loss when driving.
Its very easy to mount on the trunk.. just run the wire underneath, zip tie it to the trunk arms, go under the rear seats, and hide everything under the carpeting until you get to the front.

I installed my Roady2 in the lower front cubby. Its mounted on the dash mount, which is attached to the front vertical wall of the cubby. I've routed all the wires through one of the holes in the front of the cubby (when you take it out, you'll see for screws to remove the cubby from the black console piece and then you'll have two square holes at the front of the cubby). My power is hard-wired to the accessory plug (I had to remove the whole stereo to get at it since the instructions Honda has to remove the plug definitely do not work well). The AUX input is hardwired to the factory AUX connector with a male plug (so it goes right into the Roady2). And, the antenna is mounted on the trunk and routed inside the trunklid, down the left arm, across the underside of the hatshelf, under the side trim, and then right above the lower passenger dash cover, then through the same hole mentioned above.

We got the factory XM and I was surprised that they put the antenna inside the car (against XM's advice) on the upper passenger side of the windshield. We occasionally get dropouts but they are short and not annoying enough to move it. I am glad it works there since I hate the way they look outside the car. I am up around 41N.
