Keyless entry beep

When i first got my car when i would hit the lock button twice on my key, the car would beep to let me know it is locked. Out of nowhere it stopped beeping. Does anyone know how to set it so it beeps again when i hit the lock button twice?

I don't think there is a way to adjust the beep when you lock the car, it's just a standard thing. Must be something wrong with the car if it's really not working, bring it to the dealer.

Im not doing anythin wrong. It worked for the first 6 months, and then stopped working. I removed the battery once and reinstalled it and it started to beep again. Then a few weeks later it stopped.

No one said you did anything wrong. Not too much you can do wrong just pressing a button either once or twice. Not sure what happens when a batter gets low, but I'm pretty sure it woudl still beep. My suggestion is take it to the dealer.

Is there anyway to have the horn beep when you unlock it?

Sometimes have a hard time finding it in a parking lot and a beep would help rather than just flashing lights.

I suggest Ginko Biloba to help you remember where you parked your car

One time I had my hood up, and locked the car, and it wouldn't beep. Then I shut the hood and it worked again.

Same goes for the trunk. If it's open, there's no beep when hitting lock twice. Maybe a sensor is faulty and the car thinks something's open?

To IWANNAGOFAST, you should just press lock twice for the beep and then unlock after you find your car. Simple enough.

Stock horn sucks. Doesn't qualify as a honk. Mine's never done anything but beep.
Personally, I would rather look for blinking lights than worry about the embarrassment of a horn we have.

Yeah, I just listen to the locks and look at the lights. If I'm unsure if it's locked or not, I'll wait 5 more seconds to press the lock button again just so I don't have to listen to the horn.

well technically if your trunk is open your car is not really "locked" or secured.

The OP's point was that everything IS in fact closed, and he's still not getting the horn to sound when hitting lock twice. I simply offered the guess that perhaps one of those sensors is faulty and indicates wrongly that something is still open, which might cause the mysterious lack of horn feedback. Of course, if something is actually open, I'm assuming the OP would be able to figure that out pretty quickly on their own. And no, I do not believe my "faulty sensor" guess is correct, I am just guessing wildly.

BTW, any update?
