I've already been there done that. Basically, you need a VERY shallow 8" that has high .QTS and low FS to sound decent. It'd be better to run off an aftermarket amp as well.

The trunk bars get in the way otherwise this would be very easy and work well.

it should be a free air sub otherwise it won't sound good, only problem is that there aren't many available.

good luck

Yes they are awesome IB subs but they are too deep for our cars.

able to stretch it out to possibly 7-8 with a spacer?

lol hell no. Shallow as in 2-2.5in. pioneer makes one but seems to be very hard to get the 8in model. I dunno if they stopped making it or what. The kicker comp C8 is free air compatible with a mounting depth of i believe 4in. and the mtx 4500 somethin 8in sub is also free air compatable and is a lil more shallow at 3.7in., which is the sub im lookin at gettin. Both run about 100wrms which is enough for free air.

hmm.. I wanted to slap one of these in: http://www.ddaudio.com/dd/caraudio/w...sp?series=1500 but I don't see that happening now... might end up putting in the http://www.ddaudio.com/dd/caraudio/w...sp?series=W6.5 instead. it'll outdo alot of 8" subs on the market

edit:

http://www.reaudio.com/specs.html#sp_re look promising. I'll have to pick up one or 2. I used to run RE HC12's.. very nice subs.

Could you hook up a sub/amp combo on the stock head unit
