anyone here heard of orion? they are a company that makes subs, speakers, amps, etc. i was with my bud the other day when he picked up a 10 inch 1200 watt orion sub. not sure of specific model but the guy he bought it from said it costs $600. but this thing is huge. it weighs at least 35lbs. he bought it for $75. i was just wanting to know if anyone has heard of/has any orion products and if they are worth anything. i personally have never heard of them.

I think they're like most companies. They have not so good low-end stuff, then nice high end stuff.
I can't really speak on anything because I've personally never ran or even seen their products, but I have heard good things on other forums. Mainly the subs. |

They are waaaay old-school. I used them when I was in HS. I'm 29 now. They were really good back then. I had an amazing Orion set up in a 1993 Mustang GT. Like most car audio companies they were bought out and everything is manufactured in China now. I'm pretty sure they are owned by DEI, the same company that makes Viper alarms, and several other brands. I wouldn't buy their stuff, but I'm sure it's decent for the money.

I still use my Orion XTR3 DVC's 12's from 1998, they are hooked up to a kicker ZR360....they slam hard. I paid 170.00 a piece almost ten years ago. When I sell my car though I will be getting one solobaric 10. Orion makes some sick competition stuff, it is expensive though.
