Had to edit this... There shouldnt be a difference whatsoever.... Sony never made a " Duo " Card above 128mb per side.. they had a 256mb stick with a dipswitch on it... So Both users are using a " Sandisk Pro Duo 4gb " with compatibility issues... Possibly the reader?

pc card question

Has anyone else experience the issue of the nav screen not allowing you to close it if a card adapter is inserted into the dash without a card in it?

I'm using a SanDisk 4-in-1 and a 1 GB Kingston SD card. Works great, but the screen only closes if there is a card in the adapter that the hu can read. A minor issue, but it does worry me that I'll lose the card adapter one of these times I take it out.

Does anyone have/know if an SD card adapter that can be left in the dash without a card inserted in it?

Wouldn't it be easier to lose the SD card since you've taken it out of the adaptor?

30 secs for 3gigs? Not bad at all. Have you waited for one 700mb CD to load up? OMG!

I have a 2006 Civic EX Navi purchased 1-year ago today. I have tried the Compusa adapter with a 2 GB SD card with approximately 200 mp3s in 12 folders. When I insert the card, the system works until I switch modes. When I go back to the card, it gets locked up, and the song info on the screen flashes. I pull the card/adapter out, and note how hot it is. When I stop the car and let everything cool down, I put the card back in and it works again.

I know about the technical service bulletin (NHTSA 10018477) on the 2006 Civic EX Navi about PC card problems. I was wondering if my Civic could have the problem, and was wondering whether anyone else may be experience problems with the PC card.

Thanks!

I'm using the Sony VAIO VGP-MCA10 5in1 reader...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN:IT&ih=011

it works as long as you don't go over 2gb...
for the record, I'm using PQI brand 2GB SD card...

now if i can just upgrade to a 4gb....(looks like CF is the only way to accomplish this)...

Sorry to bump this old-ass thread. I just wanted to report my findings so nobody else makes this same mistake:

The A-Data 4gb CF card is what I purchased from New Egg. This was something like $17 shipped. I know, I couldn't believe it either.

Well, sad to say, it doesn't work that well. It seems to be tempermental in cold climates. Both myself and Bilzfan have found that this card will cause problems when it's cold. Once it warms up, it seems to work fine...

For more info and/or symptoms, please see my first post in this thread:

OEM Navi Card reader question

Anyway, just a heads up to those who do not live in relatively warm climates. I made the mistake of buying this card thinking I was getting a great deal... Unfortunately, this is not the case.

Popinjay, if you want to add that to your OP, that'd be cool too...

So has anyone used the Sandisk 6 in 1 card reader with an SDHC card?
I tried to use it with a Transcend 8GB SDHC and it gave me an error, might be because of the amount of music tho...
I have a ton of folders with music in them... but like 1 folder for a specific band with all thier songs in that folder, so the folders don't go deep (only one level), but there's like 40 folders with about 40+ songs in each folder.
Too much I wonder?

*edit* removed all the folders and just left the music there alone ... 977 songs.... STILL DIDN'T WORK! Ugh.
