07 SI Sedan Power to trunk? I'm Desprate!

I've read a bunch of posts on here showing basically how to run the power wire this way:

How do I get Power to the Trunk?

However there is metal behind that hole on th 07 SI, and not a rubber piece. Does anyone have any suggestions or can point me to a DIY on here that shows the proper way to run power cable through the firewall of an 07 SI sedan?

Thank IA

I just did an install yesterday in my 07 Si, so here's how I did it....

Starting in the engine compartment, open the hood look at the drivers side fender.
You will see a black plastic piece that runs along the inside of the fender, which is secured by three of those plastic push snaps. Start by popping them out with a screwdriver, then remove said plastic piece.
With the piece removed, now look where the fender meets up with the firewall inside the engine bay. You should see a decent sized opening which leads to the inside of the fender. The hood release cable is also routed through here. This is where you want to run your power wire. Go ahead and feed about one foot of wire through this opening.

Now that we have some wire inside the fender, we need access to the wire.
Start your car and turn you steering wheel all the way to the right, then turn the car off and make sure your steering wheel locks. Now we have some room to access the fender liner. You now need to remove 3 or 4 of the black plastic push snaps which secure the fender liner. Starting on the side where the fender meets the door, I worked my way toward the front of the car and removed a total of 4 of these.
Now you should be able to bend the fender liner and gain access to the inside of your fender and should now be able to see the power wire which your dropped down in the previous step.

Get a flashlight, and look towards the upper right inside the fender. You will notice your hood release cable, and should also see a rubber plug. This is where we need to go. Get some good pliers, and get to work removing this plug. It's in there pretty good, and I ended up with some bloody knuckles after completing this step. After removing the plug, it appears to be some type of vent tube, but I could find no real purpose for it, so if someone knows differently, please correct me.

Now with the plug removed, go ahead and feed some wire through the hole that we now have. You should then be able to reach around inside the car behind the fuse panel area, and you should find the wire which you just fed into the car.

After that, I routed the cable up under the dash, using zip ties and making sure to keep the wire away from anything that moves, such as the steering column and any pedals. I then removed the entire center console and back seat of the car. I ran the power down the middle of the car underneath where the center console goes, underneath the carpet, then underneath the back seat into the trunk. There are a couple threads which guide you through this in detail, so I won't bother explaining again.

TIP: If you remove the center console, you will need to disconnect a wire harness which provides power to the 12v outlet in the console. Since this outlet is only powered when the ignition is on, you can use it as a source for your remote wire. The harness has two wires, a black one, and a yellow one. The yellow one is the one you want. Go ahead and tape the remote wire to your power wire before fishing it underneath the carpet to make it easier.

Hope that helps.
