If the SI radio is the same as the EX, you have the wires at this link
I have already asked about the AUX input of the OEM radio but never got the needed answer. Can't wait to see if you will get it. From what I understand, we need to tap in those cables #16 / Radio marking as AUXD White with silver stripe (not used) #17 / Radio marking as AUXR Green (not used) #18 / Radio marking as AUXL Yellow with silver stripe (not used) But I'm not quite sure and I don't want to mess my head unit. Good luck! |

I have an external sirius unit and I want to connect it to the aux in of the OEM radio (I have a Canadian DX-G), it's the same radio as the US LX.
I know I can use the aux-input adaptor from Honda, but I don't want to use this plug because I don't need the fancy little box. I want my wires to be completely hidden behind my sirius unit. So what I want to do is to tap my aux-output (sirius) to the aux-input (honda oem) without getting the little 50$ adaptor. I just need to know, which are the good cables I need to tap. I'm not quite sure which ones are good. |

WiDeFiRE, try reading through page 2 of "I.C.E. & Electrical" board. I think you will be able to find some diagrams or something that can assist you. Sorry, but I'm not able to find the specific article. Not that I actually bothered to look.

its behind the radio and you will most likely have to buy the aux input from honda to do it. The reason is its not a standard RCA in is some kind of proprietary plug or wait for a company like peripheral electronics to come out with and aftermarket alternative. They make some aux input adapters for many different vehicles and im assuming they will for the civic. Or just use an FM modulator but everyone knows they suck.

Try this.
You will have to buy the jack, then solder your wire to the back of it. I just used a mini-stereo connection for my Starmate, it sounds at least as good as CD on the music channels. You can purchase mini-stereo connections that are lower profile, that look similar to the starmates power and antenna wires. I did a post of my install here. I didn't want to tear open my dash or console, so you could probably hide the wires better if you thought about the placement and used a different mounting kit. |

haha the problem i had AND THANKS to all the replies here
was that i never even looked around the car for the AUX input the link i saw here showed me its under the cig lighter plug i installed the sirius today just to get it going mounted it in the pocket under the radio and ran the antenna to the rear deck thru the glass so that its not stuck to the outside of the car what im going to do next saturday is go to honda and buy ANOTHER cig and aux outlet and plug everything in BEHIND the dash :) the power will be run from another source so i can still have a functioning cig lighter for my cell phone i'm PROBABLY gonna use the power from the cig lighter thats in the armrest since its pretty useless on my tsx u could plug your cell in the armrest and it had a port that you can run the cables OUT of the armrest while it remained eclosed... so nothing of mine will ever be plugged in there i'll get some pix during the week, cars filthy and i had ghetto installs :) not as ghetto as the dude who has the wires running UP to his sunroof but i like everything done right but i was at my fiances and tools were limited the internet here 56K!! :) |

I'll wait until the weather is more friendly before attempting a permanant install of my unit because I don't want to snap some plastic parts because they are too cold.
What I will do is install the antenna inside near the passenger tweater area and hide the cable by the tweater place. I will install my radio on a custom bracket that will fit nicely in the little storage area behind the shifter. All the cables will be hidden under the console and I'll tap my power from the cig lighter wires. I don't want to see cables at all. Once done, I'll show pics. |
