HELP: Just Bought EX Coupe with XM Add-On: What am I Getting?

Hi All,

VERY NERVOUS RIGHT NOW: Just bought a 2007 Alabaster Silver EX Coupe tonight. My other Civic (and the one I am trading in) have aftermarket XM radios. I wanted the integrated setup so I bought the XM accessory add-on for $549. My dealer says they paint the antenna cover with clear coat the same color as the car and the external antenna will go just where all the stock EX-Navi and Si antennas are located.

I am nervous as I have read some threads on here pointing to genuine Honda kits that go in the front passenger window as shown in this link:

They assured me it would look OEM and it might take a day longer to get the car as they have to wait for the body shop to do the clear coat cover and wire.

I know this option is not purchased often as you can get a receiver for almost free, but I want the clean look and will not be happy if I get this passenger window kit.

Can someone clarify what it is I will be getting? Is this a standard install or do some dealers vary the install process?

I bet it's the factory add on with a painted antenna on the roof. There are people who have done similar setups with the factory tuner.

hey it will look like the ones that come on the navy civics no need to worry i sell hondas I m here to help......seriously.youll have the block ontop...I would go after market and get the little block in the front window thats what i am doing,

So do all dealers do it differently? Is there actually a kit that includes the black block antenna that gets painted body color or is my dealer rigging it a special way to look more OEM?

Just curious what the difference is between what they are doing and the kit in the link above. Or are they using that kit as part of the install as well?

Its gonna look OEM and Sweet...its the small factory color matched little block on the top of your roof @ the back of the car...hardly noticeable but looks great...good luck and i have the same car In nighthawk black pearl
