Aftermarket install help?

Ok i realize there are a few threads out here and i skimmed through them but i realy dont understand, what should i expect after i replace my stock HU. i hear things about white noise unless you un-hook the amp, is there a way to keep the stock speakers working the same? or would it be easier to just replace the stock sub and amp? I am just a lil confused any insight? i fear the reprisle from this thread...

Which system do you have?
What are you trying to do?

The quick answer.

If you like your music loud & detailed, or even just one of those, then aftermarket is the way to go.

i did a HU swap in my SI. i left the subs and speakers hooked up the way they came and it sounds great. no white noise, no scratching, nothing. as long as you do it right with clean connections you shouldnt have a problem.
