Looking to do this mod on my 2007 DX Coupe and have a dumb question: The DX does not come with cruise, so can I just cut (and tape off the wires of) the cruise control switches and not install them? No sense in installing them if they don't do anything right?
Also, after reading all of the pages on this thread and doing a parts search on College Hills Honda, I can't seem to find the right part # for a 2007 Coupe. Based on what I've read, there is a difference between the 2 door and the 4 door and also possibly a change between '07 and '08. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks, Brian |

If you have the DX does your car even have the same clockspring behind the wheel?
The LX/EX/Si all share the same clockspring so you can just plug in the ones with audio controls. But since the DX doesnt have the common cruise control it may use a different clock spring since the only wire to pass through would be for the horn switch. |

After trying to install this in my 06 LX over the period of two weekends (and I"m no dummy when it comes to car electronics), I've determiend my car's clockspring is not connected to the pins on the clockspring harness. Simply bypassing the pins works for me, but when I tap into the harness, I get nothing. And I know for a fact that the pins in my harness are well in place.
Looks like I'll be taking apart my clockspring sometime soon and doing my own work in there. :/ |

Awesome tutorial
Just finished installing my audio controls in my car and it works like a champ. Took me about two hours total once I got all the pieces. I would suggest anyone who is going to try and buy the button controls to do so on ebay or amazon. I got a whole new steering wheel with audio and cruise control for only $50.00. If anyone has any questions on how to do this feel free to ask. I'm also going to post a sirius hardwiring tutorial soon if anyone is interested. Thanks for everyone's help.

I'm gonna try to do this mod on my 2010 DX Coupé if it's possible when I will get my Rosen Receiver
![]() Some have suggested that if the cable reel in the DX is the same (which I doubt) as the one found in the LX/EX/Si the mod is possible. I think the right cable reel part for my DX is 77900-SNA-A51 according to this link but I'm not able to locate the part for the LX/EX/Si to compare with. Quote:
From what I've read so far I'm sure it is but I'm asking anyway. Does the steering wheel part with the control buttons you got on ebay for $50 have to be specific for your car model or its doesn't matter if I get a 2009 4DR steering wheel just for the control buttons for my Coupé. |

im pretty sure the coupe and sedan controls are different
edit: since you have a 2010, the 2 spoke wheel controls are different from the 2 spoke wheels. If the sedans all have the 3 spoke wheels now then theyre the same as coupes |

Bought an SI wheel for my LX
Followed this thread to install Nice thread BTW Couldn't get it to work even after checking all my wiring and connections!! Eventually found out I was using wire that was too small / thin gauge. Put in some larger wire and working like a charm NOW Thanx |
